Whistle while you work: music helps pass the time

Classic Snow White..whistle while you work

Just whistle while you work
And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place
So hum a merry tune
It won’t take long when there’s a song to help you set the pace
While the seven dwarves may have been funny, they knew a good thing once they discovered it. Whistling/singing a song helped their work fly by. There’s some science behind this. Basically, if you distract your brain enough it won’t notice the repetitive, boring, and/or hard actions you’re putting yourself through. This applies not only to work but also to those grueling workouts you put yourself through. (It’s all about them gains though!)

Can you carry a tune?

Back in the day, everyone would sing a tune since it was either that or listen to silence. These days, with the ease of music apps and headphones, we don’t have to rely on whistling or singing to help the work go by quickly. And, even better, we don’t have to make the people around us cringe when we miss a note. After trying a few music apps, I have discovered a few that I really enjoy using to get into a good pace while running or working out at the gym.

Nice ear buds, bro!

What really makes or breaks that perfect workout playlist is the perfect pair of headphones. You know, the ones that stay in your ears no matter how fast you run. The ones that can withstand all that sweat pouring out of you. And the ones that play music in HD without cutting out. There are countless options, but what it comes down to is what works best for you. These are, hands-down, my favorite headphones that I use on the daily. They were with me throughout all of my marathon training, and I even used them during the marathon too. They have seen it all: rain, sunshine, sweat, blood, and tears. They are my go-to headphones and if they ever die I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another pair, especially at this price! They are a steal! Check them out below.
